About Us

Janine Roth and Kim Alessi believe female athletes can compete with elegance and style. Both women have channeled the drive they developed over a lifetime of competition into Alero Sport.

Janine and Kim are both avid golfers in Monmouth County, NJ where they both live. Between them they have won many "longest drive" competitions and local tournaments. In golf pro shops they noticed a lack of options in women's sportswear. When they couldn't find a playful belt they went to work creating, Alero Sport.

Kim Alessi drew on her years of living in NYC and her experience as a fit model. Janine Roth, a former Division I basketball player and all around stand out athlete "sweat tested" the belts to make sure that they could withstand the heat of competition. Together they selected the finest materials from a European manufacturer known for its quality and heritage.

Janine and Kim are often a team on the tennis courts as well, and have been invited to compete on the national stage. They are the founding members of the Jersey Shore Women's Tennis League which affords local tennis talent the opportunity for match play without travel. JSWTL had 150 members in its first year and has a charitable giving component.

Kim graduated from Southern Illinois University. She lives in Ocean Township, NJ with her husband Tom and their Pug, Penelope.

Janine is an American University alumna. She and her husband Eric have three children Alex, Gabrielle and Sam. They reside in Colts Neck, NJ.
